Recap: OFEK Workshop at the EUJS Summer U 2026 »Responding to Antisemitic Violence and Discrimination«

With a workshop and an information stand, OFEK contributed to this year‘s ‘Summer U’, a summer academy organised by the European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS) which was held in Portugal from 2 to 9 August. 
 
Around 300 Jewish students from across Europe and beyond came together to take part in this annual event. The programme featured a wide range of workshops run by various national associations and initiatives. 
 
At the workshop on ‘Responding to Antisemitic Violence and Discrimination‘, an OFEK counsellor provided an introduction to the history, work and guiding principles of the counselling centre, giving participants an insight into OFEK’s working methods and areas of activity. The workshop encouraged dialogue on existing practices, challenges and developments in various national contexts, and provided a space for participants to share experiences and discuss approaches that can be adapted to different (regional) contexts.

Vom 2. bis 9. August fand in Portugal die „Summer U 2026“ statt, eine von der European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS) organisierte Sommerakademie. Auch OFEK war mit einem Workshop und einem Infostand vor Ort.  
 
Etwa 300 jüdische Studierende aus ganz Europa und darüber hinaus kamen zusammen, um an dem jährlich stattfinden Event teilzunehmen. Das Programm beinhaltete vielfältige Workshops von verschiedenen nationalen Verbänden und Initiativen. 

Bei dem Workshop zum Thema „Responding to Antisemitic Violence and Discrimination“ führte eine Beraterin von OFEK in die Geschichte, die Arbeit und die Leitprinzipien der Beratungsstelle ein und ermöglichte den Teilnehmenden Einblicke in die Arbeitsweisen und Tätigkeitsfelder von OFEK. Der Workshop förderte den Dialog über bestehende Praktiken, Herausforderungen und Entwicklungen in verschiedenen nationalen Kontexten und bat Raum für den Austausch von Erfahrungen und die Reflexion übertragbarer Ansätze.
